COME TO HUDSON FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Kick off the holiday shopping season with a visit to Hudson on the day after Thanksgiving.
More than 90 unique shops and restaurants offer
the chance to enjoy holiday shopping at a more relaxed pace!
Shopkeepers go the extra mile to make sure you find what you need,
and our old-fashioned friendliness and helpfulness take the stress out of the holidays.

• Olaf will be around town between 1 and 5.30 promoting ticket sales for the Basket Raffle (fundraiser for Destination Hudson/Visitor Center)
Celebration of Lights & Caroling at the Gazebo at 5 PM. Carolers are encouraged to gather at the Gazebo just before 5 PM, bringing flashlights or battery-powered lanterns, OR meet at Heinen’s at 4.30 and sing your way to the Gazebo. Booklets of carols will be distributed. The lights on the massive pine trees on the Village Green will ‘magically’ come on during the caroling, led the Hudson Community Choruses.
A Scottish Santa (in a kilt) will be at the Visitor Center 3-5 p.m
• The Visitor Center will be open 11 to 5 and the Fire Museum from 2-5 p.m.

Hudson’s Restaurant will be collecting for Akron Childrens Hospital Patient Wish List from Friday 11/24 to Wednesday 12/13. We are looking for the following

The Learned Owl Book Shop will continue their annual tradition of raffling off a leg lamp. Tickets are $1, 6 for $5 or 3 canned goods. Proceeds will go to the Hudson Food Pantry. We will also be collecting new books for Children & Books of Akron. They provide new books, many of them the first book a child will own, to underprivileged children in the greater Akron area. Books purchased for CAB in store will receive a 20% discount. On Small Business Saturday, local author and Record Publishing reporter, Laura Freeman, will be signing copies of her historical fiction series from 1-3 pm.

If you have never experienced this long-standing Hudson tradition,
you are in for a treat!

• Live Nativity on the Clocktower Green, courtesy of Hudson First Congregational Church. Complete with the Holy Family, shepherds, sheep and a camel!
• Caroling all around town – Members of adult, youth and children’s Hudson Community Choruses, and groups of young carolers from the Hudson Music Association. Girl Scouts will carol on the First & Main Gazebo
• Santa will be visiting with his elves Hudson’s own “Sedan or Van Transportation” will be Santa’s “sleigh” for the day, transporting him to each location.

SEARCH FOR THE CHRIST CHILD
An Interactive Journey

Hudson United Methodist Church

Located on the corner of Hudson-Aurora Road and Stow Road, just north of the High School
Please join us for a truly unique evening. Experience the joy of the shepherds and the singing of angels. Search for the Christ Child begins in the inn where a census is taken. After light refreshments, a shepherd guide will accompany groups of travelers on an interactive pilgrimage in search of the Christ Child. You are encouraged to dialogue along the way as you meet shepherds tending their live flock, angels, wise men, and innkeepers. Meet the “sleepy man”, visit King Herod’s palace, travel through a marketplace, and ultimately reach the nativity.
This 30-minute journey is free, wheelchair accessible and for all ages. Canned food donations will be accepted and donated to local food banks.

FROSTY 5-miler and Mistletoe Walk Frosty 5 & Mistletoe Mile is Presented by Summa Health
